About Me:

I am an undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins University double majoring in biomedical engineering and computer science.  I have been working at the Center for Imaging Science starting the 2004-2005 school year.

Research:

I've been working on a project under the direction of Dr. Tilak Ratnanather, with the help of Clare Poynton.  The project constitutes of using diffusion tensor images (DTI) to track the most probable fibers of major pathways in the brain and validating the dynamic programming tracking algorithm.  Currently, I am working on defining a metric that measures the connectivity strength between two regions of the brain.

In validating the DP algorithm, we wanted to use images that were simpler than subject brain images, which consist of a myriad of fibers with complex networks and connections, yet which provide solid evidence that our algorithm can overcome certain limitations of the more commonly used FACT algorithm.  Hence, we used phantom data that consisted of simple trajectories with specific obstacles.  Click here to view the results.
