GENSIPS Hotel

A block of rooms have been reserved for GENSIPS until April 25, 2004 at the Doubletree Inn at the Colonnade, which is located on the northern border of the Johns Hopkins campus and is within walking distance of the GENSIPS site. Make your reservations directly with them, and mention GENSIPS in order to obtain the special rates. Please make your reservations as early as possible.The rates quoted do not include 12.5% tax.

However, 800-operators sometimes are unaware of local special rates, so toll calls may be useful. Additional possibilities of interest are available from the Baltimore site. GENSIPS Site

GENIPS will take place in Hodson Hall, located at the south-west end of the Johns Hopkins campus. The site is walking distance from Doubletree Inn at the Colonnade, which is located near the campus North Gate. Consult the Johns Hopkins University Campus Map for  directions. Hodson Hall is Building #2 on that map.

Directions from BWI Airport

1. Taxi: Fare from BWI Airport is approximately $30.00
   
2. Shuttle: You can book the Airport Shuttle in advance at the web site or by telephone at  1-800-776-0323 or 1-410-381-2772. 
   
3. Driving:  Leaving BWI on I-195, take Exit 2A, MD Route 295 N (Baltimore-Washington Parkway).  Continue for 6.4 miles, where 295 becomes Russell Street. Drive on Russell Street for 0.9 miles.  Russell Street becomes S. Paca Street.  Drive for 0.8 miles and continue straight on S. Paca Street for a short distance.  Turn left onto McCulloh Street.  Drive for 0.1 miles.  Turn right onto N. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.  Drive for 0.2 miles. Make a slight left turn onto N. Howard Street.  Drive for 1.4 miles.

   Then...

1. To The Johns Hopkins University campus
   When N. Howard becomes Wyman Park Drive, continue for a short distance, to a "three-way" intersection.  Continue straight (not left) through the intersection.  The South entrance to the Johns Hopkins campus will be on your right. Attendees whose lodging is in the neighborhood should refrain from bringing cars on campus if possible. Those arriving by air or train should consider using taxis. Those driving from out of town should park in the small Visitor Lot (click this for parking map) and be sure to obtain an exit voucher each day prior to leaving.
   
2. To conference hotel When N. Howard becomes Wyman Park drive, continue for a short distance.  Bear right onto Art Museum Drive.  Continue for 0.2 miles and merge left onto N. Charles Street.  Drive for 0.4 miles and turn Left onto W. University Parkway.  Drive for 0.1 miles to the (Doubletree)  Inn at the Colonnade. 

Driving Directions from North of Baltimore

From I-95 southbound, take I-695 (the Baltimore Beltway) toward Towson.  Take I-83 South (the Jones Falls Expressway) toward Baltimore.  Take the exit at 28-th Street and bear left at the top of the ramp.  Turn left at N. Howard Street and proceed as in A or B above. 

From I-83 southbound, take the right lanes at the merge with I-695 and proceed as above.

Driving Directions from South of Baltimore

Take I-95 northbound to I-395.  Take I-395 to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and proceed to make a slight left turn onto N. Howard Street and proceed as in A or B above.
